A guestographic is an infographic you make and then offer to other websites to publish, usually with a short custom introduction and a credit link back to your site. The name joins "guest post" and "infographic." It was popularised as a link building method: you pitch a ready-made graphic to sites that wrote about the subject, and they publish it with your link.

For marketers, it's a way to get your research or know-how onto other people's sites without writing a full article for each one.

How it works

You pick a subject the sites in your field already cover, make a graphic that explains it better than what's out there, and publish it on your own site first. Then you find pages that wrote about the subject and offer the graphic, along with a short write-up made for their readers.

For example, Harrow & Pine makes a graphic showing how grind size changes for each brewing method, from espresso to cold brew. It offers it to ten coffee blogs that have brewing guides, each with a 200-word intro written for that blog.

The same rules apply as for guest posts. Links placed mainly to game rankings break Google's spam policies, and many hosts will mark the link as nofollow.

AI answers are made of text. Facts that only exist inside an image are much harder for a platform to find and quote than the same facts written out. So a graphic on its own does little for AI answers.

The fix is easy: put the key facts in words next to the graphic, on your own page and in each write-up you offer. "Use a fine grind for espresso and a coarse grind for cold brew" in plain text is something an answer can repeat, with your brand beside it.
