Agent Analytics

Agent analytics measures the AI bots and agents that visit your website, which pages they read, and the people AI assistants send you.

Agent analytics is measuring the AI bots and agents that visit your website. It shows which ones come, how often, which pages they read and which requests fail. Most tools that offer it also count the people who arrive from an AI answer.

Your usual analytics can't do this. Tools like Google Analytics run a script in the visitor's browser, and most bots never run it. So the visits only show up in your server's own records.

Where the data comes from

Every request to your site is written down by your server or your CDN, with the name the visitor gave and its address. Agent analytics reads those logs and picks out the AI bots.

Names alone aren't enough. Anyone can call their bot GPTBot. So a careful tool also checks the address against the list the AI company publishes, or looks it up to the company's own host name.

What it tells you

For example, say your logs show OpenAI's search bot read your pricing page 40 times last month, but never your new comparison page. That page can't be used in ChatGPT's answers if the bot hasn't read it. Maybe it's not linked from anywhere, or a rule is turning the bot away.

Read next to your AI referral traffic, it shows the whole trip: the bot reads a page, the platform names you, a person clicks.

In AnswerOrbit

The Bot visits tab in Website shows the AI bots that visited your site, which pages they read and which requests failed. Connect your server logs from Cloudflare, Vercel, Amazon CloudFront, Google Cloud, Akamai, Fastly, Netlify or WordPress, or send them yourself. We check every request before we count it, and requests that fail show as Unverified requests.

The AI traffic tab shows the people AI assistants sent you, from Google Analytics.
