AI browser
An AI browser is a web browser with an AI assistant built in, which can answer questions about pages and browse sites for you.
An AI browser is a web browser with an AI assistant built into it. You can ask it about the page you're on, have it compare tabs, or tell it to go and do something for you, like find a product and add it to your basket. Several new browsers are built this way, and many existing ones are adding AI features of their own.
The idea is that the assistant comes along as you browse, instead of sitting in a separate tab.
What changes for your website
In an ordinary browser, a person reads your page. In an AI browser, the assistant may read it first and give the person a summary. Or it may browse your site itself, clicking and filling in forms while the person does something else.
That means two readers for every page: the person, and the assistant working for them. The assistant reads what's in the page. If your price or delivery areas only appear after a script runs, or only in an image, it can miss them.
For example, someone in an AI browser opens three coffee roasters' sites and asks which one delivers fastest to Leeds. Kestrel Roasters writes its delivery times in a table on its shipping page. Harrow & Pine shows them in a pop-up. The assistant answers from the table it could read.
A fast-moving category
AI browsers are new, and products are launching, changing and shutting down quickly. Rather than chasing each one, focus on what helps all of them: clear text in your pages' HTML, honest facts, and rules in your robots.txt that let the right bots in.

The Pages tab in Website shows each page as a person sees it and as a bot reads it, and marks any text that bots miss.
