Answer inclusion rate
Answer inclusion rate is the share of AI answers for a topic or set of prompts that name your brand. AnswerOrbit calls it visibility.
Answer inclusion rate is the share of AI answers that include your brand, usually for one topic or one set of prompts. If 100 answers about office coffee came back this week and 30 of them named you, your inclusion rate for office coffee is 30%.
It answers a simple question: when people ask about this, how often do the platforms bring you up?
One idea, many names
Every AI search tool measures this, and they call it different things: inclusion rate, presence rate, mention rate, visibility. The names differ more than the maths. What does differ, and matters, is what goes into the total.
Some tools only count answers that name at least one brand. Others count every answer. That changes the number a lot. For example, say 100 answers came back, 60 named some brand, and 30 named you. Counted against every answer, you're at 30%. Counted against answers that named a brand, you're at 50%.
Neither is wrong, but you can't compare a 30% from one tool with a 50% from another. Always check what the total is.
Why scope it to a topic
A single number across all your prompts hides where you're strong and where you're missing. You might be named in 70% of answers about coffee gifts and 5% about office coffee. The average looks fine. The gap on office coffee is what you need to see.
In AnswerOrbit
We call it visibility. It's the answers that name you divided by all your answers, over the last seven days. Every answer counts in the total, including answers that name no brand at all, because a customer who heard no brand didn't hear yours either.
Open a topic in Topics to see your visibility on it, with each prompt's own number. You can also filter by platform, market or tag.
