Brand sentiment
Brand sentiment is the overall tone AI answers take about your brand across many answers: how many mentions are positive, neutral or negative.
Brand sentiment is the overall tone the AI platforms take when they talk about your brand. Each mention is positive, neutral or negative. Brand sentiment is the picture you get when you add up all of them, across your prompts and platforms.
It's a quick read on your reputation as the platforms repeat it. They build answers from reviews, articles and forum posts, so a shift in their tone often follows a shift in what people write about you.
Reading sentiment across answers
Sentiment covers how a single mention is read. Brand sentiment is about the pattern. Three things are worth looking at.
The mix: how many mentions are positive, neutral and negative. A brand with mostly neutral mentions is being listed and not recommended.
The change: is the share of negative mentions growing? Sudden jumps usually trace back to a new review, article or thread.
The comparison: how your tone compares with your competitors'. If everyone in your category gets a lot of neutral mentions, yours are normal.
For example, out of 80 answers that name Harrow & Pine this week, 30 are positive, 44 neutral and 6 negative. Last week only 1 was negative. All 5 new ones repeat the same complaint about delivery times, and they cite the same forum thread.
Counts or a score?
Some tools turn sentiment into one score out of 100. That's tidy, and it hides the detail. A score of 70 could be lots of mild praise or a mix of strong praise and strong complaints. Counts, with the sentences behind them, let you see which.
In AnswerOrbit
The Sentiment tab in Perception shows how many of your mentions are positive, neutral and negative, by brand or by platform, day by day. We never turn them into a score. What's said lists the things answers say about you, with their tone, how often and since when, and the pages behind each one.
