Duck.ai

Duck.ai is DuckDuckGo's private AI chat, where you can talk to models from several AI companies without your chats being stored or used for training.

Duck.ai is DuckDuckGo's AI chat. It lets people talk to AI models from several companies, such as Anthropic, OpenAI and Mistral, in one place, with DuckDuckGo standing in between to keep the conversation private.

It's a smaller place than ChatGPT or Gemini. But it attracts people who care about privacy, and if that's your audience, it's worth knowing what they hear there.

How it works

You pick a model and chat with it, as you would anywhere else. DuckDuckGo passes your messages on to the model's maker without your IP address or other personal details. Its privacy page says chats aren't stored by default and aren't used to train the models. Some models are free, and others come with a paid DuckDuckGo plan. The list of models changes, so check it there.

Why answers there can differ

Because Duck.ai offers several models, two people asking the same question can get answers from entirely different systems. DuckDuckGo's own help pages say each model responds differently.

For example, someone who asks Duck.ai "which coffee subscription is best for oat milk drinkers?" could get Fernhill Coffee from one model and Kestrel Roasters from another, on the same day.
