Grok
Grok is the AI assistant built into X, also available on its own at grok.com. It can search both X posts and the wider web before answering.
Grok is the AI assistant built into X, the social network, and also available as its own app and at grok.com. You can ask it questions the way you would ChatGPT, and it writes an answer.
What sets it apart for a brand is where it looks. Grok can read public posts on X as well as the web, so what people are saying about you on X right now can find its way into its answers.
How it finds its answers
X's help page about Grok says Grok decides for itself whether to search public posts on X and whether to search the web, depending on the question. So for some questions it answers from what it already knows, and for others it reads recent posts and pages first.
That makes it quicker to pick up on fresh talk about a brand, good or bad, than an assistant that only searches the web.
What it means for your brand
For example, say a popular account on X posts a complaint that Kestrel Roasters' latest batch arrived stale, and it gets hundreds of replies. Someone asks Grok "Is Kestrel Roasters any good?" that evening. Grok may read that thread and mention the complaint, even if every review site rates Kestrel highly.
If your customers spend time on X, it's worth knowing what's being said about you there, and answering it in the open, since that's material Grok can read.
