Brand coverage
Brand coverage is the share of the prompts you track where AI answers name your brand at least once.
Brand coverage is the share of your tracked prompts where AI answers name your brand at least once. If you track 20 prompts and you're named in the answers to 13 of them, your coverage is 65%.
It shows how wide your presence is. A brand can be named all the time for a few questions and never for the rest. Coverage tells you how many of your customers' questions you're part of at all.
Coverage vs visibility
The two sound alike, and they count different things. Visibility is the share of answers that name you. Coverage is the share of prompts where at least one answer named you.
For example, say Kestrel Roasters tracks 10 prompts on 2 platforms for 7 days, so 140 answers. It's named in 42 answers, all of them for 3 prompts. Its visibility is 42 out of 140, or 30%. Its coverage is 3 out of 10 prompts, also 30%.
Now say the same 42 answers are spread across 8 prompts. Visibility is still 30%. Coverage jumps to 80%. Same number of mentions, much wider reach.
How to use it
Low coverage tells you where to look. List the prompts where you're never named, and read their answers. Who gets named instead? Which pages do the platforms read? Those prompts are where new work can open up a new set of customers.
Keep in mind that one mention in a week is enough to count a prompt as covered. Read coverage next to visibility, so a prompt where you were named once doesn't look as strong as one where you're named every day.
In AnswerOrbit
We report visibility, the share of answers that name you. To see how far your mentions reach, open a topic in Topics. Its Prompts tab lists each prompt with its visibility, so you can spot the ones where you're never named.
