The conductor model is a way to run AI search work where one team sets the direction and the other teams do the work. The conducting team, often SEO or content, measures how the brand shows up in AI answers, picks what to fix, and hands each fix to the team that owns it, with a clear brief and the evidence.

It exists because being named in AI answers depends on work spread across a company. Your website, your PR, your reviews, your product pages and your partner listings all feed the answers. No single team owns all of that.

Why one team can't do it all

The fixes that move AI visibility land on many desks. A wrong price on a review site is a PR job. A page bots can't read is a web job. A missing comparison page is a content job. A bad run of reviews may be a customer service job.

If the SEO team tries to do all of it, the work stalls. If nobody coordinates it, each team works on its own goals and the gaps stay open. Like an orchestra, it needs someone keeping time.

How it works in practice

The conducting team does three things. It measures, so everyone works from the same numbers. It picks the few things that matter most this month. And it writes briefs that make each job easy to pick up, tied to goals the other team already has.

For example, Fernhill's SEO lead sees that Kestrel is named for office coffee because a business magazine's roundup leaves Fernhill out. She sends the PR team the article, the answers that cite it and the facts to share, framed as press coverage, which is already PR's goal. She sends the web team a separate brief to add an office page.

In Recommendations, each recommendation comes with why it matters, the steps and the evidence. Click Take it on, then Assign it to someone on your team, who gets an email, and give it a due date. Recommendations that involve someone outside come with an evidence pack you can copy into an email.
