Grounding page
A grounding page is one page on your site that states the key facts about your brand plainly, for AI platforms and people to check against.
A grounding page is one page on your own website that states the key facts about your brand in plain words: what you are, what you sell, what it costs, where you deliver, who runs the company. It's the page you'd want an AI platform to read whenever it needs to get a fact about you right.
It matters because AI answers about your brand draw on whatever they find. If your facts are scattered across a dozen pages, some of them out of date, the platform may pick the wrong one.
What goes on it
Keep it to facts a customer would ask about and that have one right answer. For example, Fernhill Coffee's grounding page might say:
- Fernhill Coffee is a coffee roaster in Bristol, founded in 2016
- Subscriptions start at £12 a month for 250 g
- We deliver across the UK and to Ireland
- You can pause or cancel a subscription at any time from your account
Write each fact as a full sentence that makes sense on its own. Keep the text in the page's HTML, not in images or tabs that load later. Date the page and update it the day something changes.
Where it fits
A grounding page is often your About page, a "Company facts" page or a press page. What matters is that there's one place, that it's current, and that the rest of your site agrees with it. If your pricing page says £12 and your grounding page says £11, you've made the problem worse.
Link to it from your home page and footer, so both people and bots can find it, and point to it in your structured data.

Claims has a source of truth: the pages, files and text that say what's true about your business. Add your grounding page there with Add material, and Draft from your site suggests facts from it. We read pages again weekly or monthly, so new facts on it show up as drafts. Then every claim the answers make about you is checked against the facts you've turned on.
