Mention refresh
A mention refresh is getting an existing mention of your brand updated, because it's wrong, out of date or describes you poorly.
A mention refresh is getting an existing mention of your brand fixed: a review with your old price, a list article that describes a product you no longer sell, a directory entry with the wrong address. You already have the mention. You want it to say the right thing.
It's often the quickest win in AI search. The page already ranks and the platforms already read it, so once it's right, the answers that use it can be right too.
Why old mentions hurt
AI platforms read the web as it stands today, old pages and all. If the most-read review of your product is three years old, that's the version of you the platforms repeat.
For example, a popular gift guide still lists Harrow & Pine's bread subscription at £20 a month, though it's been £16 since January, and says it delivers only in central London. AI answers keep repeating both, and people who might have signed up see the wrong price and assume they're out of the area.
How to ask
Find the pages behind the wrong answers first, so you fix the ones the platforms actually read. Then write to the editor or the site owner with the exact line that's wrong, what's true, and a link that proves it. Keep it short. Editors update pages when it's easy, and they like their pages to be accurate.
Pages you control, like directory listings and your own profiles, you can update yourself.
In AnswerOrbit
Claims checks what the answers say about you against your facts every day. Inaccuracy drivers shows which pages are behind a wrong claim. Copy evidence copies the claim, the verdict and every answer that made it, ready to send to whoever runs the page. Recommendations can also suggest asking a site to correct what it says about you, with an evidence pack to send.
