Bing Webmaster Tools
Bing Webmaster Tools is Microsoft's free service for checking how Bing crawls, indexes and shows your site, including in its AI answers.
Bing Webmaster Tools is Microsoft's free service for site owners. Once you've shown you own a site, it tells you how Bing crawls and indexes your pages, which searches you show up for, which sites link to you, and what problems it found. It's Bing's version of Google Search Console.
It's easy to ignore Bing because its share of searches is small next to Google's. In AI search it matters more than that share suggests, because Microsoft's own AI answers run on Bing's index.
What you can do with it
You add your site on Bing Webmaster Tools and verify it. Then you can submit a sitemap, ask Bing to crawl a page again, see your clicks and impressions in Bing search, check how Bingbot crawls your site, and run a site scan for common problems like broken links and missing titles.
Why it matters for AI search
Copilot Search in Bing writes its answers from Bing's index of the web, as Microsoft explains in its announcement of Copilot Search. If Bing hasn't crawled or indexed a page, Microsoft's AI answers have little reason to use it.
So the basics in Bing Webmaster Tools are AI basics too. Check that your important pages are indexed, that Bingbot isn't blocked, and that your sitemap is up to date.
For example, Kestrel Roasters notices that its new decaf range never appears in Copilot's answers. In Bing Webmaster Tools, the decaf pages show as not indexed. Submitting them and fixing an old redirect gets them indexed, and they start turning up in answers a few weeks later.
Bing also reports how often its AI features cite your pages, in a report inside the tool.

You can connect Bing Webmaster Tools under Connections in Settings. Bing doesn't share its Copilot citations report with other tools yet, so we can't show it. Copilot is one of the six platforms we ask every day, and when it searches the web we keep the pages it read and the searches it ran. See Settings and How we count.
