Specific objection

A specific objection is a reason against your brand that AI answers give only for certain questions, so a targeted fix can deal with it.

A specific objection is a reason the AI platforms give against choosing you that only comes up for certain questions. Ask about price or delivery and you never hear it. Ask about one particular need and there it is. A broad objection, by contrast, shows up whatever people ask.

Knowing which kind you have tells you how big the fix is. A specific objection usually traces back to a few pages, and one good page of your own can often answer it.

An example

For example, Kestrel Roasters sells grinders. Answers about grinders in general are kind to it. But when people ask for a quiet grinder for a flat, two platforms say Kestrel's grinders "are too loud for small spaces."

The pages behind the objection are one review from a home appliance site and a forum thread that quotes it. Kestrel's product pages don't give a noise level at all, so the platforms have nothing else to go on.

The fix is narrow too. Kestrel adds the measured noise level to each grinder's page, writes a short page on quiet grinding, and sends the reviewer the numbers.

How to tell it's specific

Look at where the objection comes up. If it's tied to one need, one product or one kind of customer, and it's missing everywhere else, it's specific. If it spreads across many subjects and platforms, treat it as broad.

Then ask whether it's true. A fair objection is product feedback, even when it only comes up in a corner of your market. A wrong one is a content and press job.
