Visibility rank

Visibility rank is your place among the brands AI answers name, ordered by how often each one is named.

Visibility rank is where your brand comes when every brand in the AI answers is lined up by how often it's named. If three brands are named more often than you, your visibility rank is 4.

A percentage tells you how often you're named. A rank tells you whether that's good enough. Being named in 30% of answers sounds fine until you see that four competitors are named more often.

How we count it

We put every brand the answers name in order of visibility, the share of answers that name it. That includes brands you don't track. If a new tool starts turning up in the answers, it shows up in your ranking before you've even added it as a competitor.

There's one exception. When you look at a single prompt or a single tag, or filter by a tag, the rank only counts the brands you track. A single prompt has too few answers for a ranking of every brand to mean much.

For example, say this week's answers name Kestrel in 50% of answers, Harrow in 41%, an untracked brand in 38%, and you in 35%. Your visibility rank is 4, and the untracked brand is the one to look into.

Where to find it

The Ranking chart on the Overview shows every brand the answers name, in order. The Ranking tab in Competitors puts you and the brands you track side by side. What the numbers mean explains all three ranks we show.

Visibility rank and other ranks

We also rank brands by share of voice and by citations. Those two only count the brands you track. Visibility rank is the one that looks at the whole field.
