Keyword list
A keyword list is a saved group of related words and phrases you follow together, to see demand and results for one subject.
A keyword list is a saved group of words and phrases about one subject that you follow together. In SEO, it's the list of searches you want to rank for. In AI search, tools use keyword lists to group the phrases whose demand, or whose answers, you want to watch over time.
A list keeps your research in one place, so you're not looking up the same phrases from scratch every month.
Keywords and prompts
A keyword is short, like "coffee subscription." A prompt is how people ask an AI platform, usually as a full question, like "What's a good coffee subscription for someone who drinks decaf?"
You need both. Keywords are how you look up demand and find a subject's questions. Prompts are what you actually ask the platforms to see who they name.
How to build one
Start with the phrases your customers use. Your own product names can come later. Add the variations: singular and plural, local terms, and the words people use when they're comparing. Group them by need, so each list maps to one thing a customer is trying to do.
For example, Fernhill Coffee might keep a list for "office coffee" with "office coffee supplier," "coffee for small office," "bean to cup office" and "office coffee delivery." Looking up that list shows them which phrase most people use, and the related questions show them which prompts to track.
In AnswerOrbit
There's no separate keyword list. The Demand tab in Topics lets you look up a word or phrase and see an estimate of conversations a month, how it changed over the last 12 months, and the related questions people ask. Click Track next to a question to add it as a prompt, and group your prompts by topic and tag. See Topics and prompts.
