Shopping visibility score

Shopping visibility score is the share of AI shopping answers that show at least one of your products.

Shopping visibility score is how often your products appear when an AI platform answers with products. Take every answer that showed product cards, and work out what share of them showed at least one of yours.

It's the shopping version of visibility. Where visibility asks whether you're named, this asks whether your products are on the shelf.

How it's counted

Only answers with product cards count. Answers in plain text are left out, since there was no shelf to be on.

For example, Kestrel Roasters' prompts lead to 50 answers with product cards in a week. 20 of them show at least one Kestrel product. Kestrel's shopping visibility is 40%.

An answer counts once however many of your products it shows. Two Kestrel grinders in the same answer still count as one.

Being on the shelf vs being first

Being shown is good. Being shown first is better, because it's the first thing the shopper sees. So read shopping visibility next to how often your product comes first.

In the example, say Kestrel's product is the first card in 5 of its 20 answers. Its visibility is 40%, and it comes first in a quarter of the answers it's in. That points to two jobs: get into more answers, and climb in the ones it's already in.

Read it by topic too. A brand can be on every shelf for grinders and on none for coffee beans, and one blended number hides that.

In AnswerOrbit

The Overview tab in Shopping shows your visibility as the share of answers with products that showed at least one of your products, from ChatGPT, over the last seven days. Win rate is how often your product came first. Connect your catalogue to get these numbers for each of your products.
